
Kuti Matthew, famously known as President Kuti and proudly hailing from Ikorodu, has claimed silver in the singles event at the ongoing WTT Under-19 Table Tennis Championships in Tunisia, marking a significant achievement in his young but fast-rising career.
Kuti’s performance not only earned him a place on the podium but also helped secure Nigeria’s qualification for the 2026 World Team Championships in London, in both the men’s and women’s team events — a major boost for the country’s table tennis prospects. 🇳🇬
He also added a third-place finish in the men’s doubles, further underlining his all-round excellence at the tournament.
In recognition of his outstanding growth and impact, Kuti was named the Ethiopian Holidays Most Improved Player (Male) of the tournament. The current West African Champion was pivotal in driving Nigeria to the semi-finals in Tunis.
