
The Legislative Arm of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to working in tandem with the Executive arm, led by Chairman Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, to drive development and progress in the area.
At a plenary session held on September 30, 2025, the Council announced the composition of four standing House Committees, each chaired by a lawfully elected Councilor. The Committees are designed to strengthen legislative oversight functions and promote effective service delivery across the LCDA.
The four Committees and their Chairmen are:
1. Works, Housing, and Infrastructure Committee – Hon. Hakeem Adewale Solawon (Councillor representing Ward C2 and Deputy Leader of IBLCDA)
2. Finance, Budget, Appropriation, Market, and Revenue Committee – Hon. Habib Adekunle Anifowoshe (Councillor representing Ward C5 and Majority Leader of IBLCDA)
3. Environment, Health, Agriculture, Community, and WAPA Committee – Hon. (Princess) Saidat Adeoba Odeyemi (Councillor representing Ward C3 and Chief Whip)
4. Education, Youth, Sports, and Security Committee – Hon. Yusuf Bello (Councillor representing Ward C4 and Deputy Majority Leader of IBLCDA)
The Council Leader, Hon. (Princess) Basirat Banjoko, emphasized that the Council will prioritize initiatives that directly impact the lives of constituents while maintaining a productive collaboration with the Executive arm.
She assured residents of the Legislative arm’s dedication to good governance, transparency, and policies that foster sustainable community growth.
