As part of ongoing grassroots mobilization efforts across Lagos State, the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu 2027 (GMT), Directorate of Local Government Affairs, paid a courtesy visit to the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area. The visit was aimed at sensitizing local communities on the achievements and continued vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under his Renewed Hope Agenda, as preparations gradually begin ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the engagement, the delegation made a significant stop at the palace of His Royal Majesty, the Onibeju of Ibeju Kingdom, Oba Waliu Olasunkanmi Abdulrasaq where they received a warm and symbolic royal welcome. In his remarks, the monarch assured the delegation of his unwavering support for President Tinubu’s leadership, praising the administration’s ongoing developmental strides across Nigeria.
“We remain fully in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the Onibeju stated. “His policies are designed to uplift communities like ours, and I am confident in his vision for a better Nigeria.”
Leading the delegation, Princess Samiat Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and Director of Local Government Affairs for the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu 2027, addressed traditional the leader and residents. She emphasized that the visit was not a campaign rally, but a civic mobilization initiative focused on awareness, voter education, and grassroots engagement.
“We are not here to campaign,” she explained. “We are here to preach the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and to encourage civic responsibility. We urge all residents to speak to their children who have reached the age of 18 to go and register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Those who need to transfer their voting location or replace damaged PVCs should do so as well.”
Princess Bada highlighted the importance of community involvement and early preparation as key to ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard in future elections. She urged the local leaders to use their influence to mobilize their wards and units for mass PVC registration and voter sensitization.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, commended the leadership of President Tinubu, describing him as a “visionary leader” who is not afraid to make bold decisions for the long-term benefit of Nigerians.
“When you see a visionary leader, you will know,” Hon. Olowa said. “Yes, some decisions are tough, but they are necessary for national growth. Look at the massive work ongoing along the Lagos Coastal Road — this is just one of many strategic projects under President Tinubu’s administration. Similar initiatives are ongoing across the country, and they are all aimed at improving the lives of citizens.”
