… Oniwaya Gives Royal Blessing to the Delegation

In continuation of its grassroots engagement across Local Government Areas in Lagos State, the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) 2027, under the Lagos State Directorate for Local Government Affairs, paid a strategic visit to Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Leading the delegation was Princess Samiat Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and Director for Local Government Affairs, who stressed the importance of traditional rulers and grassroots communities in mobilizing sustained support for the administration’s ongoing reforms.
As part of the engagement, the team visited His Royal Majesty, Oba Suleiman Owolabi Ogun-Oloko, the Oniwaya of Iwaya-Yaba Kingdom.
During the courtesy call, Princess Bada explained that the purpose of the visit was to seek the royal father’s support for the GMT 2027 movement and to recognize his vital role as a custodian of the community’s values and voice.
“We are here to continue our efforts in supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and to connect directly with our traditional institutions. Your support, Kabiyesi, is paramount to the success of this movement, in Yaba LCDA and Lagos State,” she stated.
In his response, Oniwaya commended the delegation and reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu, describing him as a visionary leader whose administration has introduced transformative policies. “President Tinubu has always been a leader of the people. His current initiatives are touching lives positively, and I will continue to support him and any movement that shares this vision,” he said.
Following the palace visit, the GMT delegation proceeded to the Yaba LCDA Secretariat, where they engaged with community leaders, stakeholders, and residents.
Addressing the audience, Princess Samiat Bada highlighted some of the major achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, including the Student Loan Scheme, Agricultural Support Programs, and Tax Reforms.
“President Tinubu is a messiah who has come to our aid with bold reforms. Just recently, he approved the repayment of another national loan a move that will help reduce our debt burden and improve the economy,” she said. “We urge every parent and guardian to encourage their children who have turned 18 to go and get their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs). This is critical as we prepare to re-elect President Tinubu in 2027.”
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Ramota Hassan, immediate past Chairman Oriade LCDA emphasized the commitment of the Tinubu-led administration to economic stability and national development.
“The President is putting in place sustainable policies that will help the country thrive. We must all come out in 2027 to show our support. Let’s ensure our youths are registered and ready to vote,” she said.
Hon. Surah Animashaun added her voice, encouraging the audience to remain politically aware and community-oriented. She noted that grassroots mobilization and civic responsibility will play a critical role in shaping the country’s future.
“Let us continue to preach the message of Renewed Hope everywhere we go in our markets, churches, mosques, and homes. Our power as citizens lies in participation.
We cannot afford to be passive,” she said. “Encourage the youth to register, educate them on the value of their vote, and keep this momentum going until 2027.”
Other members of the delegation are: Hon. Funmilayo Muhammed, Former Chairman Apapa-Iganmu; Hon. Sebanjo, Chairman Apapa Local Government; Hon. Adunni Abubakar, Chairman Agboyi-Ketu LCDA; Hon. Muhibat Rufai, Chairman Ojo Local Government, and Hajia Bajulaye Muftiat, Secretary of the committee.
