
The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) has commenced its grassroots engagement across Lagos State, beginning yesterday, 18th of September at Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA). The initiative is designed to connect with stakeholders and party faithfuls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking during the engagement, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Director of Local Government Affairs for GMT, emphasized that the movement is not a political campaign but a strategic effort to inform and sensitize Nigerians—especially at the grassroots—about the progress made under President Tinubu’s leadership and the administration’s ongoing developmental plans.
She emphasized that President Tinubu has done a lot for the country, and it is essential for the people to know about these achievements. She added that GMT is not just about campaigning but about getting people informed about the good work that has been done. The team has decided to reach out to different local governments to educate people about the President’s accomplishments and what he plans to do in the future.
Princess Bada expressed gratitude to the Director General of GMT, Honorable Bisi Yusuf, and the Governor of Lagos State for their support. She also thanked the GAC leaders and the entire conference for their cooperation, which has been instrumental in the success of GMT’s outreach efforts.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the initiatives and accomplishments of the President’s administration, with the hope of building support for future projects. Princess Bada encouraged the community to stay informed and engaged, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in driving progress.
In her remarks, Princess Bada also mentioned the renewed hope that President Tinubu’s administration has brought to Nigeria, stating that it is not just a slogan but a reality that many people have experienced. She urged the community to continue supporting the President’s efforts and to stay informed about his achievements.
Hon. Abiodun Muftau Yinusa, Special Assistant to the President on Agriculture emphasized the importance of reaching out to people at the grassroots level to ensure they benefit from federal agricultural programs. He noted that while many Nigerians are aware of the President’s efforts, more needs to be done to connect directly with local communities.
“The President has been implementing tremendous initiatives for the youths of Nigeria, including student loans he also announced the upcoming agricultural loan,” Yinusa said. “Farmers will no longer face difficulties in accessing funds to boost farm production. All they need to do is visit their respective local government offices to apply.”
He also highlighted the availability of various grants for farmers, stressing the need for accurate data and proper verification to ensure that genuine farmers benefit from these programs. “We need to authenticate applicants to confirm they are real farmers, which will enable us to efficiently deliver these opportunities,” he added.
In his welcome address, The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. Oluwafemi Odunayo described President Tinubu as a champion of progress, a defender of democracy, and a unifying force for Nigeria. He said the President’s leadership has shown that with determination and courage, Nigeria can overcome challenges and build a brighter future for all.
He emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilization in promoting good governance. He pledged to continue working tirelessly to improve the lives of the people in his Local Government Development Area and expressed his commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s policies and initiatives.
The Chairman noted that the GMT is a testament to the power of grassroots mobilization and the desire for good governance. He urged the attendees to remain committed to the cause and to spread the message of hope and progress that President Tinubu embodies.
The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun, has praised President Tinubu’s initiatives, saying they are designed for the benefit of citizens. Speaking at an event, she highlighted the ongoing SORCU fund, which is being implemented in every local government, and expressed optimism that it will reach everyone.
She also mentioned the Nelfund initiative, which aims to support students in higher institutions.
The Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Muhibat Rufai, described the led administration of President Tinubu as one that is delivering significant progress and positive change across the country.
“We are here to bring a good gospel to you about the benefits of the President-led administration,” she said. “Let us all come out in our numbers to support the second term of our President, so he can continue the great work he is doing.”
She urged citizens to remain politically active and united in supporting policies and programs that promote national development and prosperity.
