
The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), convened a peace and security meeting with security agencies and traditional chiefs on September 16, 2025. This meeting was prompted by the severe traffic gridlock along the Lekki Deep Sea Port/Free Trade Zone axis, caused by indiscriminate parking by tanker drivers.
Engr. Kasali had earlier taken personal control of traffic in the area on September 11, 2025, to ease the congestion. The meeting aimed to find lasting solutions to the traffic challenges faced by road users in the area. Stakeholders are expected to work together to implement measures that will prevent future occurrences and improve the overall traffic situation in Lekki LCDA.
