The Ogun State Office of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) today, 15th of Septemver hosted its Stakeholders’ Engagement Forum at Basic Trust International, Abeokuta, bringing together key partners, stakeholders, and community representatives to deepen awareness and strengthen collaboration towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

In his welcome address, the State Coordinator, Otunba Adegboyega Adefeso, outlined the objectives of the meeting, highlighting the various innovations and interventions of the Authority, including Comprehensive Emergency Obstetrics Care (CEMOC), Free Fistula Programme (FFP), and other strategic programmes designed to expand access to affordable and quality healthcare.

He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to building strong partnerships that will ensure effective implementation of the Authority’s mandate and bring Nigeria closer to the goal of Universal Health Coverage.

A beneficiary of CEMOC, Mr Gbenga Oriji, commended and gave a testimonial of the intervention as it has positively impacted his family health and urged others to take full advantage of all health programmes and interventions.

Other participants engaged actively during the interactive question-and-answer session, where issues were addressed and clarifications made on programme implementation, enforcement mechanisms, and enrollee benefits. Stakeholders were also encouraged to share the knowledge gained within their various communities as part of joint efforts to drive enrollment and compliance.

The forum featured presentations on critical areas of NHIA operations, including; NHIA Overview and Programmes Update, Benefit Package for Contributory Schemes, Enforcement and Claims Management and the NHIA Act 2022.
