…. Princess Samiat Bada Inspects Ongoing Mile 12 International Market Project

In a momentous occasion that underscores the administration’s commitment to responsive governance, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), officially flagged off the construction of four critical road projects within the LCDA on Thursday, 11th of September. The roads include Bello Folawiyo Street, Solomon Aluko Street, Yetunde Owoseni Street, and Princess Abolanle Bada Street.

She noted that the decision to construct all four roads simultaneously was made to maximize impact, given their interconnectedness. “We realized that these roads are interconnected, and rather than fix them one after the other, we took the wiser and more impactful decision to construct all four at once,” she explained. This approach, she said, reflects the administration’s commitment to compassionate and forward-thinking Governance.

The road projects, according to Princess Bada, are not just about infrastructure development but about improving the lives of the residents. “Good roads mean safer journeys for our children, easier movement for businesses, quicker response for emergency services, and stronger connections between our communities,” she said. She urged the residents to cooperate during the construction phase and take ownership of the roads once completed, emphasizing that development is a shared responsibility.

In a related matter, Princess Bada used the platform to remind residents of the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). She encouraged those who have not yet registered to do so, either at the LCDA Secretariat or through the INEC online portal. “Your PVC is not just a card – it is your voice, your right, and your power,” she emphasized.

The construction works are being handled by Ojonla Construction Ltd, and the Mayoress expressed optimism that the projects would significantly enhance the quality of life for the residents of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

In her concluding remarks, Princess Bada reiterated the administration’s commitment to building a better Ikosi-Isheri for all its residents, saying, “Together, we will continue to build an Ikosi-Isheri that we are proud to call home.”

Taiwo Olagbaju, CDA Chairman, hailed Princess Bada as “Madam Project” and commended her administration for undertaking four major projects simultaneously, describing it as unprecedented. “We’ve had good leaders in the past, but Mayoress Princess has been the best, doing wonderfully well,” he said, expressing gratitude for her support and that of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Tinubu.

The community has pledged maximum cooperation during the project, with residents urging the administration to add streetlights to the roads. Mrs. Anayajo, an elder in the community, praised Princess Bada for keeping her promise to fix the roads, saying, “You said you would do the roads, and today you have come to fulfill the promise.

Engr. Abiodun Isikalu announced that the road construction would commence the following day and requested that residents clear any obstructions on the roads.

Princess Samiat Bada also inspected the ongoing Mile 12 International Market development. This initiative is poised to revolutionize commerce in the community, providing a modern and vibrant marketplace for traders and shoppers alike.
