Prince Abdul-Lateef Adedayo Ladega, the Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, has concluded his listening tour in Wards C, D, and E, engaging with CDAs, market women, People Living with disabilities Non indigenes, Elderly, and youths. The tour aimed to hear the needs and concerns of the people and find solutions to their problems.

During the visit, Hon. Shotomiwa Wasiu Babatunde, Councillor representing Ward D and the Leader of the House, appreciated Prince Ladega for his efforts in realizing the Kokoro Abu road construction through Rep. Babajimi Benson. The construction has commenced, and the residents are optimistic about the project’s completion. Hon. Shotomiwa also thanked Prince Ladega for providing free GCE forms and lessons for students.

The CDAs and residents of Ward D highlighted several needs, including the construction of a link road from St. Daniel to Oke Ota Ona, bridge reconstruction, Street lights, Proper drainage system, among others.

Sheikh Yahya Oshoala (As-Samadani) requested assistance with transformer, which have resulted in frequent power outages since February. He urged residents to pay their dues to support the local government’s development projects and to stop dumping refuse into the drainage system, and he applauded the Chairman for this laudable initiative saying it is the first time such will happen in the history of Ikorodu Local Government.

The representative of Oloja requested a new transformer and a low-interest loan scheme to support the market women, who are mostly drinks sellers. Mr. Banjo, the Chairman of PWD, appreciated Prince Ladega’s initiatives, including the free GCE forms, and requested empowerment for the Local Government youths.

Prince Ladega assured the residents that their requests would be considered and addressed. He mentioned that the Kokoro Abu road construction was made possible because of his constant reminder to Rep. Babajimi Benson, and appreciate him for bringing such a laudable projects to Kokoro Abu, and he promised that the local government would continue to work on other projects, including schools, widows’ welfare, and youth empowerment.

He also urged the residents to participate in the voters’ registration exercise, emphasizing the importance of having a strong voice in governance.

Earlier, Prince Ladega had visited Ward C, where he met with residents, CDAs, market women, and youths. The Councillor representing Ward C, Hon. Murisiku Safari, praised Prince Ladega for laying a good foundation for his administration. The CDAs requested road construction, streetlights, and other infrastructure projects, while the market women sought support for their businesses.

Hon. Lateefat Egbetokun, Councillor representing Ward E, commended Prince Ladega’s achievements, including the renovation and equipping of the Skill Acquisition Centre, distribution of free GCE forms, and provision of free summer coaching. She also highlighted the various road projects underway and appreciated the Chairman for being a listening leader.

Prince Ladega reiterated his commitment to addressing the community’s needs, promising to have another meeting with the councillors to review the requests and prioritize the most pressing ones. He emphasized that the local government would work with relevant agencies and governments to achieve its goals. The residents appreciated Prince Ladega’s efforts and pledged their support for his administration.

Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, Ikorodu Local Government Vice Chairman reiterated that the SEED Agenda aligns with all there requests and reassured them that Prince Ladega’s administration is a listening government committed to working for the people.
