The Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) held its 1-Day Directors’ Inaugural Seminar at Providence Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, 6th of September. The event brought together GMT directors from across the federation, representing men, women, and youths, to chart a clear course for the future and strengthen unity within the movement.

In his welcome address, Hon. Abdoulbaq Ladi Balogun, Director of Mobilization, introduced directors from different states and highlighted GMT’s strong presence in the North, citing Kaduna and Adamawa as examples. He noted that the movement had become more organized and is preparing to expand into additional states. The seminar, themed “Aligning Goals and Strategies for Victory,” aimed to consolidate structures and prepare members for the tasks ahead, particularly with the 2027 general elections in view.

Declaring the seminar open, Hon. Bisi Yusuf, Director General of GMT, described the movement as the “engine room of mobilization” and stressed that organized grassroots action would be crucial for sustaining victories. He emphasized the importance of unity and commitment within the movement.

Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor and Patron of GMT, commended directors who have been part of the movement since 2019. He clarified that the seminar was not a campaign rally but a sensitization forum to prepare members for the tasks ahead.

Ayinde urged directors to return to their constituencies to galvanize support, stressing that youths, students, and digital leaders must be given strong representation. He cautioned that personal or partisan interests must not overshadow GMT’s central objectives, reminding members that they are working for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Babatunde Mesewaku, Deputy Director of Administration, who described the seminar as “a day of nominations, resolutions, and education.” He emphasized that elections are won by hard work rather than words and charged directors to effectively deploy the blueprint provided to them in order to build strong grassroots structures.

Bisi Yusuf, Director General GMT worldwide; Kolawole Peregrino, Deputy Director General GMT worldwide; Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo, Vice Chairman GMT Ogun State; Hon.
