
Prince Abdul-Lateef Adedayo Ladega, The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government has continued his listening tour in Wards F and G Agura-Gberigbe. The tour aims to hear the needs and concerns of the people and address them accordingly.
During the tour, the Councillor representing Ward F, Buraimoh Oluwakemi, expressed gratitude to the Chairman for initiating the gathering, stating that it was unprecedented in the history of Ikorodu Local Government. She noted that the purpose of the development of the gathering was to listen to the outcry of the people and identify their needs.
The Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Animashaun, also attended the gathering and appreciated the residents for voting for the party in the local government election. He highlighted some of the party’s promises during the campaign, including quarterly engagement meetings with the people, which had commenced that day. He specifically mentioned the need for a transformer at Ajayi Aroti.
Prince Ladega emphasized that the listening tour was part of his campaign promises, and he was committed to working on the people’s needs. He mentioned that records would be taken, and solutions would be provided to address the identified issues. The residents raised several concerns, including road construction and drainage issues on Kokoro Abu road, which Rep. Jimi Benson had inspected for construction. The Chairman assured that additional polling booths would be addressed and that buses would be provided to transport residents to the INEC office for voter registration.
The Chairman also heard requests for youth empowerment, support for the aged, street lighting, public water powered by solar, and security. Furthermore, he was asked to provide support for people living with disabilities and their families, including free access to the council secretariat.
Hon. Babawale Bisiriyu Alogba, the Vice Chairman stated that the gathering was important and initiated by the Chairman. During the campaign, the Chairman had promised a gathering like this, which already commenced. The Chairman wanted the residents to tell him all their needs and pains, as they were the ones living in the community and knew their needs best.
The CDA representative of Itunjetan pleaded for the completion of uncompleted roads. Mr. Zikrullahi requested road construction and street lights. Mrs. Odumbo requested street lighting at the entrance to the estate at Grammar School and public water powered by solar between the Grammar School axis.
Other CDAs also requested roads, security, drainage systems, street lights, and water projects. The Youth Representative asked for youth empowerment and support for the aged.
Tiletile Kazeem, representing People Living with Disability, requested support for their children and families and free access to the council secretariat.

In Ward G, Hon. Oshikoya Oladimeji, the Councillor representing the ward, appreciated the Chairman for the initiative and urged his constituents to state their most pressing needs. He expressed optimism that the Chairman would work on addressing the identified issues.
Prince Ladega reiterated the Local Government’s commitment to listening to the people’s needs and working to address them. He acknowledged the ward’s large voter strength and the need for government intervention in areas such as roads, schools, and healthcare.
The Chairman promised to conduct regular stakeholders’ meetings to ensure that the people’s needs are identified and addressed.
He also assured the residents that whatever there requests it would be looked into, and plans would be made to execute projects that will benefit the community. For projects that are beyond the local government’s scope, the Chairman promised to reach out to the state government or National Assembly representatives for support.
