The Mayoress of Ikosi Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has reiterated her administration’s commitment to education and youth empowerment. She made this statement at the annual Free GCE Form Distribution ceremony.

According to Princess Bada, the initiative, which started several years ago, aims to ensure that no child is denied the chance to further their education due to financial barriers. She expressed pride in the fact that many beneficiaries of the program have gone on to excel in Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges across Nigeria, representing Ikosi Isheri LCDA with pride.

The Mayoress emphasized that her administration has consistently placed education and youth empowerment at the center of Governance, investing in schools, supporting skills acquisition, and sustaining programs like the Free GCE Form Distribution. She urged citizens to take responsibility for their own empowerment, particularly in the area of voter registration.

Princess Bada drew attention to the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and encouraged parents, guardians, and eligible youths to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). She stressed that the PVC is a key to shaping the future of governance in the community, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large, enabling citizens to support leaders who listen, care, and work for the people.

The Mayoress also urged beneficiaries of the Free GCE Form Distribution to study hard and excel, promising that her administration would provide further support, including JAMB forms and scholarships for outstanding students.

She reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to building a stronger, more educated, and more empowered Ikosi Isheri LCDA, promising that great work would continue in the second term of her administration.

Olutayo Modesire, one of the beneficiary, thanked Princess Bada for her kindness and commitment to education, saying, “Most of us, we took WAEC before, but we failed, this is like a second chance for us.” He praised the Mayoress for her dedication to improving the lives of students in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, highlighting her initiatives in road construction, healthcare, and education.

Daud, another student stated that the Mayoress has been a significant help to them, supporting their educational pursuits and providing opportunities for them to succeed.

Oduola Aliyah, expressed her happiness and gratitude, saying, “I’m really, really happy happy for this opportunity by the Mayoress. May God bless the Mayoress always and continue to enrich her pockets.
