
Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo, the Member representing Ikorodu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has extended warm felicitations to the traditional rulers and good people of his constituency on the occasion of Isese Day.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Ogunleye acknowledged the significant role traditional institutions play in shaping the cultural and social fabric of the communities. He specifically greeted HRM Oba Abdulkabir Adewale Shotobi Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, HRM Oba Bashir Shotonwa the Sekumade of Ipakodo Kingdom, HRM Oba David Olukayode Raji the Eweye of Isiwu, and HRM Oba Moruf Ogunmaike Alagura of Agura.
The lawmaker noted that Isese Day serves as an opportunity for adherents of the Yoruba religion to honour their ancestors, engage in traditional practices, and promote the values and teachings inherent in their spiritual beliefs. He emphasized that the celebration not only fosters a sense of community among practitioners but also invites the broader society to appreciate and respect the rich cultural tapestry that the Yoruba tradition contributes to Nigeria.
Hon. Ogunleye expressed pride in Ikorodu’s rich cultural heritage and its contribution to the Yoruba tradition. He encouraged the people of Ikorodu to continue embracing their cultural values and traditions, while also promoting unity and peaceful coexistence.
The lawmaker used the opportunity to express his commitment to working with the traditional rulers and the people to address the developmental needs of the constituency. He prayed for continued peace, prosperity, and progress in Ikorodu Constituency 1, wishing the good people of Ikorodu a joyous and memorable Isese Day celebration.
