
The Ward B3 Joint Community Development Association (CDA) in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) hosted a retreat with the theme “Making a Difference as a Community Leader” on the 9th of August 2025. The event took place at CIFEC International School, Lugbusi, Agunfoye Adowo, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The retreat brought together community leaders, security personnel, and dignitaries, including Hon. Jimoh Idris, Councillor representing Ward B3, and Hon. Adekoya Ayo Abiodun, the immediate past Councillor of the ward, who was the Special Guest of Honour. Other notable attendees included Mr. Akiode O. Olumide, Head of Department for Agriculture and Social Services at Ikorodu North LCDA, and Mr. Merukube O. Joshua, a retired DSS security expert who served as the guest speaker.
During the retreat, Hon. Jimoh Idris made a significant announcement, promising to allocate two plots of land for the construction of a CDA secretariat at Ward B3. This gesture was warmly received by the community leaders and attendees, who expressed their gratitude for the councillor’s commitment to the development of the ward.
The retreat committee also presented certificates of excellence to deserving community leaders and committee members. The Chairman of Ward B3 Joint CDA, Pastor Samson Omokio, was present along with other committee members, families, and well-wishers.
The retreat provided a platform for community leaders to reflect on their roles and responsibilities, share best practices, and strategize on ways to make a positive impact in their communities. With the theme “Making a Difference as a Community Leader”, the event emphasized the importance of effective leadership and community engagement in driving development and progress.
