A group of aggrieved party members staged a peaceful protest at Alausa, in front of the Lagos State House of Assembly complex, carrying placards with various inscriptions. The placards bore messages such as “Ojelabi must go”, “Faleke leave Lagos alone go back to Kogi”, and “Ogala go back to Ghana”, among others.
According to the spokesperson for the aggrieved members, the party members are unhappy with the current leadership, citing selfish interests and a plot to derail from the progressive ideas championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The spokesperson emphasized the members’ loyalty to the party and their continued support for the success of President Tinubu’s RENEWED HOPE Agenda and Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda.
The protesters called on the party leaders to ask Pastor Ojelabi to leave the party, warning that failure to do so could lead to another imminent disaster in the party’s administration. They also urged the party leaders to allow those with constitutional responsibilities to discharge their duties without external influences from certain actors with selfish interests.
The protesters’ plea to the party leaders was clear: “Ojelabi and co should take an honourable exit and allow our party to breathe in Lagos State.”
