Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS) and Kith & Kin Educational Schools are set to host the live stage performance of “Owambe,” a play based on the book by Dayo David. The event will take place July 16th, 2025, at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall.

In his speech, IKODASS Chairman Alhaji Kolawole Fatai expressed gratitude to Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, Chief Learning Officer of Kith & Kin Educational Schools, for initiating this strategic partnership. He stated, “Today’s briefing is historic, being the first one to be addressed by my humble self as the Chairman of IKODASS since my assumption of office.”

Alhaji Fatai highlighted the significance of the event, aligning with IKODASS’ A-R-I-S-E agenda, which focuses on education and promoting socio-cultural values. The chairman commended his predecessor, Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, for initiating the literary competition and noted that the current Executive Council is building on that foundation.

The live stage performance of “Owambe” aims to promote informal learning among students and provide a platform for discovering and nurturing acting talents among secondary school students. The event will also feature a special cultural dance performance by the newly reconstituted IKODASS Baby – Ikorodu-Oga Cultural Troupe (IKOCAT), showcasing the rich socio-cultural heritage of Ikorodu town.

As Alhaji Fatai noted, “We therefore call on Government at all levels, private organizations, well-meaning individuals as well as Ikorodu sons and daughters at home and in Diaspora to join hands with IKODASS and Kith & Kin Educational Schools by supporting this laudable socio-cultural cum educational project, by turning out en masse to witness this epoch-making drama performance.”
