Comrade Akadri Babatunde Adeleke, popularly known as Sayleke, has emerged as the President of the China/Africa BRI Partners’ Team 2025. He seeks to promote healthy living for the elderly through his new role.
In his speech, Comrade Adeleke expressed gratitude to the organizers, sponsors, and participants from partner countries, including Nigeria, Tanzania, Gambia, and Lesotho. He acknowledged the diverse perspectives and meaningful collaboration that enriched the discussions and fostered cross-border cooperation.
The President highlighted several key challenges that need to be addressed in senior care, including access to quality healthcare, social inclusion, training and education for caregivers, technological integration, and cultural sensitivity. He emphasized the importance of advocating for policies that prioritize healthcare accessibility, implementing community programs that promote social interaction, and investing in caregiver training.
Comrade Adeleke also proposed two recommendations for future consideration: allowing participants a minimum of two days to acclimatize upon arrival in China before activities commence, and establishing a follow-up mechanism to assess the outcomes and impact of the program on participants.
In his closing remarks, the President quoted Mahatma Gandhi, saying, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” He encouraged participants to positively influence their communities and advocate for the needs of their ageing populations. He concluded by emphasizing the vision of Africa, which is “not to compete, but to win and win big together.”
The seminar was attended by dedicated delegates from Nigeria, Tanzania, Gambia, and Lesotho, and was supported by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO), the Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China, and China SINOPHARM INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION.
