The Phillips Olubunmi Emmanuel Foundation (POE Foundation) recently hosted the second volume of its “Pad a Girl Child” initiative. This program aimed to educate girls about menstrual hygiene and personal health while providing them with hundreds of sanitary pads. The event took place on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Celestial Church of Christ Olajuwon Tejuosho Cathedral in Surulere, Lagos.

The foundation’s initiative seeks to bridge the gap in menstrual hygiene education and access to sanitary products for young girls, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. By educating girls about menstrual health and giving them sanitary pads, the foundation aims to equip them with the knowledge and resources needed to manage their menstrual cycles with confidence and dignity.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Hon. Phillips Olubunmi, the founder of POE Foundation. He expressed his gratitude to the volunteers, partners, and the Celestial Church of Christ Olajuwon Tejuosho Cathedral for their support. Dr. Adenike Adeseye and Mr. Tonye from the United States of America were also present, demonstrating the initiative’s impact beyond local borders.

Hon. Phillips Olubunmi further appealed to political office holders, captains of industry, and other stakeholders to support the foundation’s cause. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts in promoting the well-being and empowerment of young girls.

The “Pad a Girl Child” initiative is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to promoting the well-being of young girls. By providing them with essential resources and education, the foundation is helping to build a brighter future for the next generation of women. The success of this initiative serves as a model for similar programs aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and girls’ well-being.
