Dr. Deola Banjo, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, has congratulated the winners of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries, marking a significant milestone in the party’s democratic journey in the local government area. The primaries concluded peacefully and successfully on May 10th, 2025, with winners emerging as the official candidates for the upcoming local government elections.
Dr. Banjo extended his heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Al-Ameen Olawale Apanisile, who emerged as the APC candidate for the Executive Chairmanship position. He praised Apanisile’s dedication, loyalty, and humility, describing his election as a well-deserved reward. The Executive Chairman also congratulated the newly elected Councillorship candidates, including Ibrahim Risikat Abiodun (Ward E3, Àgbàlá), Jimoh Idris (Ward B3, Isiu), Benson Bose (Ward E2, Erikorodo), Banjoko Oluwasheun (Ward E1, Odogunyan), and Oluwaseyi Onabajo (Ward E4, Olorunda).
Dr. Banjo urged the winners to be magnanimous in victory and to build bridges with their fellow aspirants and their followers. He emphasized the importance of unity, citing the example of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who often extends an olive branch to opponents after elections. “Now is the time to build bridges – not walls,” Dr. Banjo said. “Reach out. Embrace your fellow aspirants and their followers. Let us unite under one party, one vision, one mission.”
The Executive Chairman reminded the candidates that the real battle lies ahead – the local government elections scheduled for July 12, 2025 – and urged them to work together as a unified force to deliver victory to the party and the people. He prayed for their success, wishing them favor, strength, clarity, and courage to fulfill their mandate. “May our unity continue to be our strength,” Dr. Banjo concluded.
