In the dynamic theatre of local governance, true leadership is measured not just by tenure but by impact. For Ayobo Ipaja LCDA, the name Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni has become synonymous with change, action, and purpose. Barely six weeks into his official assumption of office as Chairman, the LCDA is already witnessing a shift in both governance style and substance — the kind of transformation that leaders of thought, stakeholders, and citizens have long yearned for.
In just six weeks, Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni has transformed Ayobo Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), proving himself the ideal chairman to lead it forward. Sworn in on April 4, 2025, by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu after the passing of Chief Mrs. Bolatito Shobowale, Oluwaloni—a young, dynamic accountant and administrator—has ignited a governance revolution. As elections loom, he stands as the best candidate: a loyal All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart, a bold reformer, and a beacon of hope for a vibrant future.
Oluwaloni’s journey reflects resilience. A progressive through the Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress, and ACN to APC, he contested the chairmanship in 2011, 2017, and 2021, never wavering despite setbacks. His loyalty earned him the vice chairmanship in 2021, and when fate called on March 28, 2025, he stepped up as acting chairman, becoming full chairman days later—a new dawn for Ayobo Ipaja.
His six-week tenure is a masterclass in strategic compassion. Navigating Nigeria’s economic challenges, Oluwaloni has delivered results many take years to achieve. Kuffo Road’s construction promises economic growth, while resurfaced Amule and Legacy Roads ease travel. A furnished legislative chamber underscores his respect for democracy.
Oluwaloni’s heart is with his people. Partnering with Zenith Bank, he granted N100,000 to 507 residents, injecting N50.7 million into the community, and empowered 10 CDAs with N250,000 each—uplifting lives without raising taxes. Healthcare leapt forward with a new ambulance, replacing tricycles for emergencies, ensuring dignity and speed to LASUTH.
The environment flourishes under his care. “Operation Clean Up Ayobo Ipaja” makes Thursdays a cleanliness ritual, clearing roads and desilting drains with the Ministry of Environment and LAWMA, curbing flooding. Staff welfare soared as he doubled non-pensionable staff allowances to N30,000 after 12 years and enhanced civil servant packages. A decade-dormant grader roars again, and council land in Baruwa was reclaimed after 18 years.
Even small details shine: a modern toilet at Pako Market boosts public health and vibrancy. These practical acts reveal a leader whose vision is both grand and grounded.
Oluwaloni’s pledge to boost Internally Generated Revenue without burdening residents reflects his accountant’s acumen and social sensitivity. His projects—spanning infrastructure, healthcare, and welfare—lay a foundation for a thriving council. Nigeria needs leaders like him: youthful, versatile, and accountable. His APC loyalty earns trust, yet his appeal unites all.
To national leaders and stakeholders, Oluwaloni is a movement. In six weeks, he turned stagnation into progress, despair into hope. Imagine a full term. As Ayobo Ipaja nears its elections, the choice is clear: Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni is the man to lead with prosperity, dignity, and pride. The people deserve no less.
