The Philips Olubunmi Emmanuel (POE) Foundation reiterated its commitment to empowering future leaders, women, individuals with disabilities, and vulnerable members of society. According to the foundation’s founder, Phillips Olubunmi Emmanuel, the organization’s vision is to enhance the quality of life for these groups and promote inclusive community development.

The foundation’s mission is to support and uplift individuals with disabilities, underprivileged children, youth, women, and marginalized groups through education, mentorship, healthcare, and community-driven initiatives. Today, the foundation carried out “Pad a Girl” initiative, which aims to provide sanitary pads to young girls who cannot afford them.

The founder explained that the initiative was born out of the realization that many young girls in the community resort to using unhygienic alternatives like rags, towels, and tissue paper due to lack of access to sanitary pads. The foundation hopes that this small gesture will go a long way in improving the lives of these girls.

The POE Foundation expressed gratitude to its major sponsor, Dr. Adenike Adeseye, for her immense contribution to the organization. The foundation also appreciates its volunteers for their tireless efforts in serving the needy.

In a plea to individuals, philanthropists, private institutions, and public institutions, the foundation has called for support to empower vulnerable members of society and make them feel important and equal in the community. With more projects in the pipeline, the POE Foundation remains committed to its mission of fostering empowerment and lasting impact.

According to Olufumi Adebayo, a volunteer with the foundation, the initiative aimed to improve the lives of these girls by providing them with access to quality healthcare, education, and mentorship. The program, “Pad a Girl Child on the Street,” targeted vulnerable girls who often resort to unhygienic alternatives due to lack of access to sanitary products.

The volunteers distributed sanitary pads and offered guidance on menstrual hygiene, bringing joy and relief to the beneficiaries. One girl was particularly overjoyed when she was told the pads were free, grabbing them with excitement. The foundation’s efforts were praised by Adebayo, who emphasized the impact of small acts of kindness on the lives of those in need.
