A historic moment unfolded for the people of Isiwu Kingdom as the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL), under the leadership of Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony for an ultra-modern palace, alongside the Eweye of Isiwu, Oba David Olukayode David Raji, Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, ISEDASS and other prominent stakeholders on Thursday, 17th of April. This significant milestone marks a development in the kingdom’s history, one that has not been witnessed in over 300-400 years. As construction begins, the community looks forward to a new era of growth, prosperity, and enhanced cultural heritage.

The Eweye of Isiwu, Oba David Olukayode David Raji expressed his profound gratitude and happiness over the groundbreaking development in the kingdom. In his address, the monarch described the event as a historic moment that has never occurred in the history of Isiwu in over 300-400 years.

Oba Raji attributed the success to the efforts of Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, the Chairman of IDPIL, whom he described as a person sent by God to Isiwu. The monarch prayed for continued divine blessings on Odofin Ogunsanya for his selfless act.

The Eweye of Isiwu noted that Odofin Ogunsanya’s contributions will be remembered for generations to come, stating that the monumental project will be a testament to his legacy. “Whatever Odofin is doing today will be a history in 100 years to come because our great-grandchildren will be talking about this monumental project,” he said.

Oba Raji concluded by praying for continued blessings on Odofin Ogunsanya, expressing his gratitude for the latter’s commitment to the development of Isiwu Kingdom.

The Executive Secretary of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL), Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, congratulated the Kabiyesi of Isiwu, as the monarch prepares to mark five years on the throne in August. He praised the Kabiyesi’s commitment to the development of Isiwu that after the throne has been vacant for more than 300 years, it is his time this great things are happening to the kingdom.

Abiru also commended Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, the board Chairman of IDPIL, for his outstanding contributions to the community. He recalled the previous Isiwu day celebration, where Odofin silently expressed his desire to build a palace for the Oba of Isiwu, telling Otunba Abiru “let us build a palace for the Oba of Isiwu”.

The IDPIL Executive Secretary highlighted the organization’s achievements, including the reduction of security disturbances in the area, thanks to their security outfit. He also mentioned the ongoing construction of a modern renal center at Ikorodu General Hospital, which is expected to be commissioned in September. Additionally, IDPIL is building a vocational center for youths, providing them with skills training and stipends.

Abiru emphasized the organization’s commitment to education, revealing that they have spent almost N250 million on scholarships and bursaries since 2021. He urged the people of Isiwu to support the Kabiyesi, citing the monarch’s dedication to Isiwu’s development.

The IDPIL Executive Secretary challenged the youths of Isiwu and Ikorodu Division to come together and contribute to the development of their communities. He commended the Isiwu Development Association (ISEDASS) for their hard work and commitment to the development of Isiwu.

The Otunba Tayese of Isiwu Kingdom and Chairman of the Palace Project Committee, Chief Babatunde Ogunberu expressed the town’s happiness and gratitude towards Odofin for this development.

According to Chief Ogunberu, the committee has strategized and laid out a comprehensive plan to ensure the project’s smooth execution. He assured that measures have been put in place to prevent any potential disruptions or interference from hoodlums or individuals who may oppose the project.

Otunba Folagbade Musa Banwo, Chairman of ISEDASS sent his heartfelt message from UK applauded Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya for his philanthropic efforts in Isiwu Kingdom. According to Otunba Banwo, Odofin’s initiative to build an ultra-modern palace has written his name in gold in the history of Isiwu.

The Coordinating Vice Chairman of ISEDASS (Isiwu Eweye Development Association), Dr. Haruna Ishola Balogun expressed profound appreciation to Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya over the commencement of the ultra-modern palace project in Isiwu Kingdom.

Dr. Balogun noted that Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya has consistently demonstrated commitment to the development of Ikorodu Division and beyond. He stated that the association, which was established three years ago, has been working tirelessly to drive development in Isiwu. Also expanded its scope to encompass overall development of the town.

The association’s efforts include plans to build a larger town hall to accommodate the growing population of Isiwu. Dr. Balogun revealed that the current town hall is too small, and they are exploring options to acquire a four-plot land along major roads to construct a more spacious facility.

Additionally, ISEDASS is working to improve security and infrastructure in local primary and secondary schools. Many of these schools lack fencing, posing security risks to students. Dr. Balogun emphasized that the association is collaborating with the palace and state government to address these issues.

Dr. Balogun also highlighted ISEDASS’s role in enhancing security in the community, stating that they are working together with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of residents. He expressed gratitude to Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya for his visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Isiwu Kingdom.

The 2nd Vice Chairman of Isiwu Eweye Development Association, Asiwaju Wale Ogunbela expressed profound gratitude to the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPIL) for there thoughtfulness to Isiwu Kingdom.

Describing the development as “beyond imagination,” Asiwaju Ogunbela urged other philanthropists to emulate IDPIL’s example by supporting community development projects and helping less privileged individuals. He emphasized that the community is peace-loving, and with the Kabiyesi’s presence, everything is expected to go smoothly.

Asiwaju Ogunbela also highlighted the measures in place to ensure the project’s success, including having a dedicated organization on the ground 24/7 to safeguard materials and workers. He expressed optimism that the project will be completed successfully, bringing benefits to the entire community and enhancing the standard of living for its residents.
