Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada Launches Landmark Project Commissioning Week
Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has launched a week-long project commissioning, marking a significant milestone in the community development journey.

This initiative underscores her administration’s commitment to advancing the area’s infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.

On Monday, April 14, 2025, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada led the ceremony to commission two strategic road projects in the LCDA.

Princess Samiat Bada highlighted that the commissioned roads, including Oluwaseun Street in Agiliti and Olanrewaju Street in Orile-Ketu, are part of a larger initiative to commission 19 transformative projects across the LCDA. These projects aim to improve the lives of residents and drive progress in the community, under Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada’s leadership.

According to Princess Samiat Bada, these roads symbolize the council’s commitment to progress that is felt, seen, and lasting. She emphasized that the council’s focus is on inclusive governance, where every ward matters, every street counts, and every citizen is heard, reflecting her vision for Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.

She expressed her gratitude to the team, community leaders, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders for their contributions to the projects. Mayoress also thanked the political stakeholders and dignitaries for their presence, highlighting the importance of their support in the council’s development efforts.

The commissioning of these roads, as noted by Mayoress, is expected to improve mobility, boost local businesses, and enhance safety in the community. She stated that this is just the beginning of a chain reaction of growth and development in Ikosi-Isheri, and the council is committed to continuing its work under her leadership.

Princess Samiat Bada urged residents to continue supporting the council’s efforts, assuring them that the leadership will continue to deliver on its promises.

Dr. Ajibayo Adeyeye, former Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and former representative of Kosofe Constituency 2, expressed admiration for Mayoress achievements, citing the completion of a hospital project that surpasses the standard of a primary healthcare center. “The hospital is bigger than what a primary health care centre should be. For that hospital, we easily rank as a general hospital,” he said.

Adeyeye praised Bada’s efforts in delivering various projects in the local government. He urged community members to support Bada’s initiatives, saying, “Whoever is performing, they should give their support, and they should stand by whoever will develop their community.”

He mentioned the addition of the Ikosi-Isheri task force to the existing security architecture, stating this is an assurance of securing the lives and properties of the people.

Saheed emphasized that the government is committed to meeting the needs of its people and delivering on its promises. “We are working to keep our promises of lifting and improving the lives of our people,” he said.

The lawmaker urged residents to take ownership of Government projects and ensure their taxes are not wasted. “If you see something, say something,” he advised.

Hon. Afolabi Kazeem, former Executive Secretary Ikosi-Isheri LCDA expressed his gratitude to Princess Samiat Bada for her remarkable development initiatives. Kazeem, who has lived in the area for 10 to 15 years, commended Bada’s efforts in completing various projects.

According to Kazeem, Bada’s administration has made significant progress in infrastructure development, particularly in road construction. He cited the link road between Omojuwa and Adebimpe, known as Olanrewaju Street, as a notable example of Bada’s commitment to building on existing projects.

Kazeem urged residents to continue supporting Mayoress administration, emphasizing that roads are a key indicator of development. He also praised the chairman’s efforts in delivering various projects, including the nearly completed hospital, legislative and Customary Court building, among others.
