
Hon. Salau Rukayat Ajibike, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), made history by bagging two prestigious awards at the 2024 Ikorodu Man of the Year Award organized by Starlight Newspaper. She received the Supervisor of the Year and Agent of Change awards, a testament to her tireless efforts in promoting women empowerment and community development.
Hon. Ajibike’s commitment to uplifting women in Ikorodu West LCDA is evident in her initiatives. She recently collaborated with the Bakery Initiative to launch the Bakery Initiative Empowerment and Employment Program (BIEEP), targeting women aged 18 to 35. This program aims to empower women through skills acquisition and employment opportunities, also she has been empowering women with skill acquisition program.

Beyond women empowerment, Hon. Ajibike has demonstrated leadership in community development. She has been instrumental in organizing events that celebrate women.
Upon receiving the awards, Hon. Ajibike expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the organizers and dedicated the awards to her mentor and father, Rep. Babajimi Benson, and the great women of Ikorodu West LCDA. She promised not to relent in her efforts, continuing to work tirelessly in her duties as Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
