Hon. Muyideen Olatunji Yusuf, Supervisor for Agriculture, Social Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ikorodu West LCDA, distributed free Eid al-Fitr food packs to members of his community, emphasizing the importance of unity, compassion, and service to humanity.
In his speech at the distribution event, Hon. He appreciated the community’s spirit of unity, compassion, and service, which has been a cornerstone of his commitment to serving the community.
Hon. Yusuf highlighted his family’s long-standing dedication to supporting vulnerable members of the community, ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial constraints. Over the years, they have worked tirelessly to provide food, reintegrate out-of-school children into classrooms, facilitate scholarships, and sponsor free GCE and JAMB registrations for deserving students.
He emphasized that true leadership is measured not by titles but by the impact one makes in the lives of others. Hon. Yusuf encouraged the community to continue supporting one another, especially during difficult times, and to remain united in their pursuit of a better and more prosperous community.
As someone deeply rooted in traditional leadership and service, Hon. Yusuf understands the value of stewardship. He believes that leadership is about lifting others, creating pathways for collective growth, and ensuring that everyone in the community benefits from available social amenities.
Hon. Yusuf expressed his appreciation to the Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, for giving him the opportunity to serve under his leadership. During his tenure, the Ikorodu West LCDA Chieftaincy Committee implemented a new salary structure, improved the welfare of traditional leaders, and supported various community events.
As the community celebrated Eid al-Fitr, Hon. Yusuf urged everyone to carry forward the spirit of generosity and service taught during the month of Ramadan. He called for continued support for one another and unity in their pursuit of a better community.
According to Hon. Olayinka Jamiu, the Chairman of the MOY campaign organization stated the initiative was inspired by Honorable Muyideen Yusuf, the supervisor for Agriculture in Ikorodu West LCDA. Yusuf, who is the symbol of the MOY campaign, believes in reaching back to the community that gave him the opportunity to serve.
The food pack distribution, coinciding with the fasting season and on the eve of Eid celebration, aimed to support vulnerable members of the community, providing them with essential items for the festive period. Hon. Jamiu acknowledged that the program was a small token of appreciation, but expressed confidence that it would make a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries, targeting at least 100 to 150 people.
