Under his leadership, LASWA has achieved significant milestones in promoting gender equality within its ranks. The number of female staff has increased from 4 to 22, with many holding managerial roles, reflecting a deliberate effort to foster diversity and inclusion in the Lagos water transport sector.

A notable aspect of this initiative is the integration of young women into the LASWA Marine Guards Corps, a safety unit previously dominated by men. This move challenges traditional gender roles and underscores LASWA’s commitment to providing equal opportunities across all operational areas.
The inclusion of women in various roles has led to improvements in service delivery, operational efficiency, and overall organizational growth. Female staff have made active contributions, enriching the agency’s performance and culture.
LASWA has also taken proactive measures to ensure a safe and respectful workplace. In February 2025, the agency collaborated with the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to conduct an enlightenment session on preventing domestic and sexual abuse at the workplace.
These efforts align with broader trends in various sectors aiming to enhance gender balancing and inclusion.
