
Princess Samiat Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, hosted the Annual Ikosi-Isheri LCDA League of Imams Ramadan Lecture yesterday, March 10th. The event, held at the Senator Adebayo Osinowo Hall, brought together distinguished guests
Princess Samiat Bada emphasized the significance of the month of Ramadan, urging residents to cherish and uphold its values. She highlighted the importance of Ramadan as a sacred month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.
“Today, as we gather for this Tafsir programme, I remind you all that Ramadan is a month of great significance. It is a time for us to come closer to Allah, to seek forgiveness, and to renew our commitment to our faith,” she said.
Princess Bada commended the residents of Ikosi-Isheri for their steadfastness and devotion during the month of Ramadan. She urged them to continue to uphold the values of the month and they would be rewarded with Allah’s blessings.
Alhaji Mutiu Are, Secretary of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) in Lagos State, has emphasized the importance of spiritual growth and healthy living during a recent event. He urged the audience to foster a stronger connection with Almighty Allah, stressing that this relationship is essential in navigating life’s challenges.
Alhaji Are also advocated for a balanced lifestyle, encouraging individuals to engage in regular exercise, eat moderately, and prioritize healthy food choices. In addition to these recommendations, he emphasized the significance of supporting the Government at all levels, from local to federal, and trusting in their efforts to improve the lives of citizens.
During his remarks, Alhaji Are commended Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), for her outstanding leadership and contributions to the community. He praised her for making the party proud and urged her to continue her good work.
He said while coming, he saw the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Health Centre, which he mistakenly referred to as a general hospital. This, he noted, was a testament to Princess Bada’s outstanding performance.
Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Chairman of the APC in Lagos State, represented by Hon. Mayegun Moshood, Deputy Chairman of APC Lagos State, called on residents to emulate the virtues of Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of obedience, selflessness, and generosity.
Hon. Mayegun encouraged both Muslims and non-Muslims to continue giving to those in need, highlighting the significance of empathy and kindness.
He praised the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Bada, for her outstanding performance, noting that her efforts have earned her widespread recognition and praise from party faithfuls and residents alike.
Mayor Dele Oshinowo, Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), emphasized the significance of Ramadan as a period of reflection, forgiveness, and unity.
Mayor Dele commended Princess Samiat for the initiative, stating that it aligns with the values of Ramadan.
He noted that the programme provides an opportunity for residents to learn from scholars and chart a new course in their lives. He praised the Mayoress for her efforts in bringing the community together during this sacred month.
The lecturer emphasized the importance of Al-Jannah Firdaus, describing it as the highest and most beautiful level of paradise among others. He stated that Allah has reserved this exalted place for those who act in accordance with His commandments and live a righteous life. According to him, the significance of Al-Jannah Firdaus is so great that when a Muslim passes away, the ultimate prayer offered is for them to attain this highest level of paradise. He further noted that some people even name their children after it, signifying how highly it is regarded.
He went on to discuss the two major key factors required to attain Al-Jannah Firdaus, stating, “To secure Al-Jannah Firdaus, two things are crucial; Iman (Faith) and A’mal Salih (Good Deeds).” He further elaborated on the Articles of Faith, which include belief in Allah, His Prophets, His Books, His Angels, the Day of Judgment, and Qadar (Divine Decree). The lecturer particularly stressed the importance of accepting Qadar, encouraging Muslims to always say ‘Alhamdulillah’, whether the outcome of any situation is favorable or not.
The Guest Lecturer stressed the significance of Ramadan, a sacred month of fasting, prayer, and charity, which serves as a means of spiritual rejuvenation and closeness to Allah. He stated that Muslims should be steadfast in their faith, follow the teachings of Ramadan, and strive for righteousness.
The lecturer also discussed the concept of Al-Jannah Firdaus, the highest and most beautiful level of paradise, which is reserved for those who live in accordance with Allah’s commandments. He highlighted the importance of attaining Al-Jannah Firdaus, noting that it is the ultimate prayer offered for the deceased.
To achieve Al-Jannah Firdaus, he identified two crucial factors: Iman (Faith) and A’mal Salih (Good Deeds). He elaborated on the Articles of Faith, emphasizing the importance of accepting Qadar (Divine Decree) and encouraging Muslims to always express gratitude to Allah, regardless of circumstances
