The atmosphere at Onikan Stadium is electrifying as Hon. Salau Rukayat Ibukun Ajibike, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Ikorodu West LCDA, leads women from the LCDA in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD). This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” serves as a rallying point for women to push for faster progress in gender equality, leadership representation, and economic empowerment.
Women from across Lagos State are participating in various activities, including a solidarity march, cultural displays, and inspirational speeches from key female leaders. Hon. Salau Rukayat Ibukun Ajibike emphasized the need for deliberate and urgent actions to break barriers, provide opportunities for women, and create an inclusive society.
She extended heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju for his contribution and support to women in Ikorodu West LCDA.
“This is not just a celebration—it’s a movement! We must accelerate our efforts to ensure women are empowered to lead, innovate, and shape policies affecting their lives. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to pushing for real, impactful change,” she stated.
As the program continues, women are participating in empowerment sessions, networking opportunities, and advocacy dialogues, all aimed at sustaining momentum for women’s progress. The energy is high, voices are loud, and the message is clear—now is the time to accelerate action for a better future for women in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and beyond.
