
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible Local Government elections in the state.
The Chairman of LASIEC, Justice Bola Ighile, gave this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area Secretariat, Agbowa, where she led a delegation to assess the council’s preparedness for the forthcoming polls.
The LASIEC team was warmly received by the Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba-Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, along with other council executives, legislators, and management team members.
In his address, Otunba-Akogun Anomo commended the LASIEC leadership for prioritizing the inspection of all commission offices in readiness for the elections. He emphasized the council’s commitment to collaborating with LASIEC to ensure a seamless electoral process.
Justice Ighile reiterated LASIEC’s dedication to upholding the integrity of the elections, stating that the commission is fully prepared to conduct free, fair, and credible elections. She promised that LASIEC would adhere strictly to electoral rules and guidelines while working closely with stakeholders to guarantee a conducive atmosphere for voters.
The LASIEC Chairman also highlighted the importance of voter education, security, and logistical efficiency, urging the council to mobilize residents for peaceful participation.
Key officials present at the meeting included the Vice Chairman, Alh. Wasiu Oluwole Dehinsilu; Council Manager, Mr. Sunday Awobajo; Leader of the House, Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi; and other executive cabinet members, legislators, management team members, and the commission’s electoral officer for Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
