The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Deola Banjo, today received the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) team, led by its Chairman, Justice Bola Ighile, at the council secretariat. The visit was part of LASIEC’s ongoing efforts to engage with local councils and stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections in Lagos State.

Justice Ighile reiterated LASIEC’s dedication to upholding the integrity of the elections, stating that the commission is fully prepared to conduct free, fair, and credible elections. She promised that LASIEC would adhere strictly to electoral rules and guidelines while working closely with stakeholders to guarantee a conducive atmosphere for voters.

The LASIEC Chairman also highlighted the importance of voter education, security, and logistical efficiency, urging the council to mobilize residents for peaceful participation.

Key officials present at the meeting included council executives, legislators, management team members, and the commission’s electoral officer for Ikorodu North LCDA.

The Justice Bola Ighile-led LASIEC commission was inaugurated by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on January 10, 2025. Since then, the commission has been engaging with various LGAs and LCDAs across the state to seek necessary support for a smooth and credible electoral process scheduled to hold later in the year.

In his address, Builder Deola Banjo applauded the LASIEC leadership for their efforts in ensuring a seamless electoral process. He emphasized the council’s commitment to collaborating with the Commission to guarantee a conducive atmosphere for voters and ensure the success of the electoral process.

The visit was attended by key officials, including Council Executives, Legislators, management team, and the commission’s electoral officer for Ikorodu North LCDA.
