
In a groundbreaking initiative, Dr. Olanrewaju Abdulrazaq, Director of Health, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Lagos, has partnered with the leadership of NYCN Ibeju-Lekki LG and Lekki LCDA to launch the NYCN-Ibeju Lekki Youth Health Scheme. Tagged “Youth Health Matters,” this innovative program aims to promote health awareness and provide essential medical services to youths in the region.
The two-day event, which took place on February 19th and 20th, featured a multifaceted approach, including Stakeholders Engagement, Health Awareness Sensitization, and a range of free medical services. These services encompassed Free Medical/Consulting Sessions, Free Medical Outreach, Blood Donation Drive, Eye Test with Free Glasses, and Free Dental Care*. By offering these comprehensive services, the program sought to address the pressing health needs of young people in Ibeju-Lekki.
During the launch event, Dr. Olanrewaju Abdulrazaq emphasized the importance of prioritizing youth health and well-being. “As young people, you are the future of our nation, and it is imperative that we invest in your health and development,” he stated. “This program is designed to provide you with access to quality healthcare services, empower you with health knowledge, and support your overall well-being.”
Hon. Sesan Olowa, who was present at the event, commended the efforts of Dr. Abdulrazaq and the NYCN team. “Health is wealth, and initiatives like this are crucial in promoting the health and well-being of our young people,” he said. “I applaud the NYCN for taking proactive steps to address the health needs of our youths, and I am confident that this program will have a positive impact on our community.”
The NYCN-Ibeju Lekki Youth Health Scheme is a shining example of community-led initiatives that prioritize the health and well-being of young people. As the program continues to roll out, it is expected to make a significant difference in the lives of youths in Ibeju-Lekki and beyond.
