Daylab Schools celebrated its 2025 Career Day, themed “Career Exploration,” on Tuesday, 4th of February, which brought together students, pupils, and esteemed speakers from diverse fields. The event aimed to ignite students’ passions and guide them in discovering their dream career paths.

Mr. Olalekan Adeyanju, a renowned ICT expert, took the students on a thrilling journey through the world of Information and Communication Technology. He highlighted lucrative areas in the IT sector, including coding, artificial intelligence, and more. He shared inspiring stories of young people who have successfully utilized IT skills to support themselves and their families while pursuing their education.

He noted the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the IT industry. He encouraged students to explore various online resources and coding platforms to develop their skills. By doing so, they can increase their chances of success in the competitive IT job market.

Leo Abdulrahaman Ajasa, CEO of Ajasa-Info, shared his remarkable personal experiences, delving into two distinct career paths: Entrepreneurial and Non-Profit. He recounted how he transformed Ajasa-Info from a small media brand into a renowned name in Lagos state  amd Nigeria. He also spoke about his journey with Ikorodu Diamond Leo Club, while serving he also developed his leadership skills, rising from a member in 2020 to President in 2024.

Ajasa emphasized the value of perseverance and hard work in achieving success. He encouraged students to be open to learning from their failures and using them as opportunities for growth. By doing so, they can develop the resilience and determination needed to overcome challenges in their chosen careers.

Mrs. Payne, an entrepreneur in the bag business, shared her inspiring journey, urging students to discover their passion and pursue their chosen career paths. She emphasized the importance of focusing on individual strengths rather than following in others’ footsteps.

She also highlighted the importance of developing a unique value proposition and identifying a specific niche in the market. She encouraged students to be creative and innovative in their approach to business, and to stay focused on their goals. By doing so, they can build successful and sustainable businesses that make a positive impact.

Lion Lady Funmi Alabi, the Proprietoress of the School encouraged students to heed the advice shared by the speakers, as it would prove invaluable in their future career choices. She stressed the importance of concentrating on their studies, citing the speakers as examples of individuals who have achieved success through education.

She also stressed the importance of building strong relationships and networking. She encouraged students to be proactive in seeking out mentors and role models who can provide guidance and support.
