
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Surulere Study Center honoured Hon. Phillips Olubunmi Emmanuel, Councillor representing ward F1 and Chairman House Committee on Education in Surulere Local Government. The award recognized Hon. Emmanuel’s outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the institution.
The award presentation ceremony took place at the Clegg Street, Surulere Center of the University. Hon. Emmanuel was honored alongside his boss, Hon. Sulaimon Bamidele, Executive Chairman of Surulere Local Government; Hon. Rasaq Ajala, Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye LCDA; and Professor Yemisi, Director of the Resource Institution, who represented the Vice-Chancellor of NOUN, Professor Olufemi Peters.
According to Professor Yemisi, Hon. Emmanuel has been a constant supporter of the Surulere Study Center since its inception. “He has been doing a constant checkup to the Center, and he has been very supportive,” Professor Yemisi said.
In his appreciation speech, Hon. Phillips who is also the founder of the P.O.E foundation, extended his heartfelt gratitude to NOUN Surulere Study Center for the award. He also thanked the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila; his Chairman, Hon. Bamidele Sulaimon; the former Chairman, Hon. Tajudeen Ajide; and party leaders for the opportunity to serve.
Hon. Bummi, expressed his surprise at having a high institution like NOUN in his ward. “I thank God for that,” he said. He dedicated the award to God Almighty and the good people of ward F1.
