In the spirit of the Yuletide season and in commemoration of her birthday celebration, Mrs. Kehinde Ajala, wife of the Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, spread love and kindness among the aged in the community, yesterday 22nd of December at the council Secretariat. As part of her philanthropic efforts, she generously gave them rice, chicken, and ₦10,000 each to celebrate the season.
Mrs. Kehinde Ajala, wife of the Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), emphasized the importance of giving back to society during the Christmas season. In her address, Mrs. Ajala noted that the yuletide season is a time to reach out to the aged, the poor, and the indigent, and to ensure that everyone has something to put on their table.
According to Mrs. Ajala, the spirit of giving is not just about individual celebrations, but about spreading joy and kindness to those around us. She encouraged residents to continue to encourage and admonish themselves to be kind and compassionate towards others.
As a businesswoman, she also urged traders not to take advantage of the season by making their products too expensive, but rather to be considerate of others and not inconvenience them.
Mrs. Ajala also emphasized the importance of supporting the government in its efforts to improve the lives of citizens. She urged residents to continue to pray for President Tinubu, acknowledging that he is doing a lot to improve the country. However, she noted that the government cannot do it alone and that residents need to contribute their own quota by doing what they can in their own space to better the future of Nigeria.
The gifts, which included rice, chicken, and money, were warmly received by the residents. Mr. Jamiu Oladipo expressed his joy and gratitude, saying, “I was so happy for this gesture. This will really go a long way in celebrating the season.”
Mr. Ishola, a resident of the area, praised the chairman’s wife for her kindness, saying, “This has been her tradition every year, and I pray Almighty God continues to uplift her and her husband.”
For Mrs. Adeyinka Ganiyu, the gift was a surprise blessing. “I don’t have money to buy chicken, but surprisingly, the wife of our chairman did this unexpectedly kind gesture to us. I am happy we will be celebrating Christmas with something to eat,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Mrs. Abosede Olalekan, was also full of praise for the chairman’s wife. “I want to thank her for putting smiles on our faces. This gift is a big relief for me and my family, and we are grateful for her kindness,” she said.
