
In commemoration of his 81st birthday, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe has made a significant contribution to the educational development of students in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA. On Friday, 6th of December The Senator donated 5 copies each of a book titled ‘Hidden Facts in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, English’ to all public schools in the Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

– Zumuratul Islamiyah Grammar School, Igbogbo
– Oreyo Senior Grammar School Igbogbo
– Lagos State Snr Civil Model College, Igbogbo
– Lagos State Girls Senior School Ikorodu
– Community Senior Secondary School
– Keme Balogun Senior Secondary School
– Reri Senior Secondary School Oreta
– Community Senior Secondary School, Lajo
– Community Senior Secondary School Baiyeku.
Senator Adeseye Kingsley Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works and former Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial, A GAC member Lagos State, Instead of hosting a grand party, Senator Ogunlewe chose to spend his special day with students in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Ikorodu, emphasizing the importance of education in building a knowledge-based economy.
In an interview with Ajasa-Info, Senator Ogunlewe expressed his desire to share his experience with the younger generation, inspiring them to strive for excellence. He revealed that the students had decided to celebrate him, and he saw it as an opportunity to impact wisdom and motivate them to achieve their goals. Senator Ogunlewe stated, “I thought I should share my experience with these children so that they also can look up to something that is good and better in the future.”
As part of the celebration, Senator Ogunlewe donated books to 10 schools in the community, aiming to help students achieve 100% success in WAEC and JAMB exams. The books, which include past question papers, are designed to help students prepare for their exams and develop essential skills in science, technology, and innovation. Senator Ogunlewe explained, “The education materials I gave to them are past question papers. It is the past question that they should be going through, past questions from about 10 years ago. That’s what they need now. It’s not the textbook because it’s about how to answer questions, how to approach things, how to use computers.”
The former Permanent Secretary also stressed the need for the community to prioritize education, citing the importance of developing a knowledge-based economy. He noted that Ikorodu is renowned for producing top-notch educationists, citing notable individuals such as Benson, Odesanya, and Awojobi. Senator Ogunlewe emphasized, “We must be able to build more professors. We must be able to build more professors, and it’s by catching them young when they are in primary school.”
The Member Lagos GAC urged the incoming Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government to prioritize education, providing basic tools like computer-based training to help students excel. He noted that the community lacks land for agriculture but has the Odogunyian industrial estate, which requires trained hands to work in the factories. Senator Ogunlewe stated, “Let this be your priority. We don’t have land for agriculture. We have the Odogunyan industrial estate, but we need trained hands to work in these factories. So, we must train our children for the future.”
Mrs. Adenike Ogunlewe, wife of Senator Ogunlewe, who joined the celebration virtually congratulated her husband on his birthday, expressing her regret for being unable to attend the celebration.
In a heartfelt message, Mrs. Ogunlewe thanked the organizers of the event and everyone who came to celebrate with her husband. She also commended the children present, encouraging them to strive for academic excellence.
Mrs. Ogunlewe emphasized the importance of education, highlighting their commitment to supporting children academically through their foundation. She also thanked the Network Global Mandate Alliance and other groups for their support.
Praising her husband’s dedication to education, Mrs. Ogunlewe expressed her pride in his accomplishments, saying, “He doesn’t joke with the students and education.”
According to Hon. Tajudeen Agoro, a former member of the Lagos House of Assembly and immediate past Chairman of Eko Club, described Senator Ogunlewe as a staunch supporter of education, always willing to lend a helping hand unless he is financially constrained. Moreover, if anyone faces health issues, Senator Ogunlewe goes beyond just providing financial assistance; he also visits them to ensure they receive the necessary care.
Hon. Agoro attributed Senator Ogunlewe’s remarkable well-being at 81 to the positive impact he has had on numerous lives. His selfless actions have earned him a reputation as a compassionate and empathetic leader.
Former Lagos State House of Assembly member, Ikorodu constituency 1 Hon. Adebimpe Akinshola, praised Senator Ogunlewe for his passion for education and the younger generation. Hon. Akinshola noted that Senator Ogunlewe’s love for education is unparalleled, and he urged students to make good use of the Educational Materials given to them which will prepare them for their Exams and be a good ambassadors for their school and Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
Hon. Gabriel Olusesan Dada, a former Vice-chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, shared his heartfelt thoughts about the celebrant, who happens to be a father and Leader. He described him as a community builder, patriot, distinguished Senator, and former Minister, who has selflessly served his people, particularly in Igbogbo and the country at large.
He expressed his gratitude for his Senator Ogunlewe’s life, praying that he continues to be blessed with good health, wealth, and more years to keep making a positive impact on humanity. He commended him for his selfless commitment to humanity, urging him to remain relentless in his service to humanity.
On the occasion of Senator Ogunlewe’s 81st birthday, Hon. Dada noted that his has chosen to celebrate with the younger generation, inspiring them to emulate his selfless example and build a better future.
