The HE Summit 2024, held on November 23, marked a pivotal moment in the journey to redefine and celebrate positive masculinity. Organized by HEvolve, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting men’s mental health and fostering safe spaces for men to thrive, the event was designed to commemorate International Men’s Day with depth, purpose, and impact.

The summit featured an array of enlightening sessions, engaging panel discussions, and interactive workshops that delved into the unique challenges faced by men in today’s society. This year’s theme, “Positive Male Role Models,” served as a clarion call to challenge harmful stereotypes, promote emotional wellness, and inspire men to embrace their authentic selves.

Ridwan Amoo, founder of HEvolve, delivered a heartfelt welcome address, sharing his personal journey of resilience and emphasizing the urgent need to create safe spaces for men to discuss mental health without stigma. Keynote speakers such as Patrick Smith and Ehita Adedokun delivered compelling talks on topics ranging from mentorship and positive influence to the importance of self-care and mental health advocacy.

The panel discussions tackled pressing issues, including challenging stereotypes in the media, fostering character development through mentorship, and building robust support systems for men’s mental health. The interludes were equally impactful, with a soul-stirring musical performance by Ayomitunde Oyeniran.

The HE Summit wasn’t just about conversations; it was about action. The presentation of HEvolve’s key initiatives—such as the Boys 2 Men Program, Workplace Mental Health Program, and Community Mental Health Ambassadors—highlighted tangible ways for individuals and organizations to get involved. Ridwan Amoo emphasized the importance of dismantling toxic masculinity and fostering a culture where men feel empowered to seek help and support.

“Today, we are not just talking about men’s mental health; we are taking action,” he said. “Together, we can create a society where vulnerability is not seen as weakness but as strength.”

The HE Summit 2024 concluded with a powerful call to action, inviting attendees to join HEvolve’s initiatives, advocate for men’s mental health, and collaborate in building a future where men can thrive. The event left participants inspired, connected, and ready to be catalysts for change in their communities.
