The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has presented the 2025 proposed budget, tagged “Renewed Hope”, to the Kosofe Legislative Arm, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to inclusive development. This step marks a commitment to delivering impactful governance and addressing the pressing needs of Kosofe residents by the Barr. Moyosore-led administration.

The presentation, graced by key stakeholders was a major step in ensuring that the year 2025 Appropriation Estimate follows the constitutional requisite bestowed on the third Arm of Government which is the Legislature.

In his address, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe stated that the budget symbolizes the administration’s dedication to fostering inclusive development. He noted that the budget is a reflection of the administration’s commitment to renewing the hope of Kosofe residents. “This budget is a reflection of our commitment to renewing the hope of Kosofe residents. It prioritizes critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare to ensure no one is left behind,” he said.

The Council Chairman took stakeholders through a review of the 2024 approved budget’s recurrent, capital, and generated revenue performance. He highlighted the achievements of the administration in the past year and outlined the plans for the upcoming year.

Barr. Ogunlewe further enunciated on the Year 2025 Proposed Budget size, which stands at #6,738,925,608.28. He explained that the budget has been carefully planned to ensure that it caters to the budgeted expenses of the Local Council Area for the fiscal year under review.

The budget has allocated funds for various sectors, including education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The administration aims to ensure that the budget is implemented effectively to improve the lives of Kosofe residents. With this budget, the Council is poised to make a positive impact on the community, driving growth and development in the area.

Barr. Ogunlewe expressed optimism that the Legislative Council will approve the proposed budget, which will enable the administration to implement its plans and programs for the benefit of the people. He assured that the administration will ensure that the 2025 Proposed Budget will cater to the budgeted expenses of the Local Council Area for the fiscal year under review.

In the same vain,the Leader of the House, Hon. Idowu Oluloro described the presentation of the budget as a remarkable milestone in the administration of Barr. Moyosore Ogunyewe.

In his address, Hon. Oluloro emphasized the importance of the budget presentation, stating that it is a constitutional obligation and a yearly ritual backed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He noted that the legislative arm of government is an independent institution saddled with the responsibility of scrutinizing the budget to ensure that it meets the requirements of the law and the needs of the public.

Hon. Oluloro further stated that the purpose and benefit of the budget should reflect the interest and needs of the people. He assured that the distinguished legislators will commence work on the approval of the bill, guided by the principles of duty, responsibility, equity, fairness, justice, and patriotism.

He also said that a thorough assessment will be done to the 2025 Budget Estimate at there upcoming retreat to ensure the interests of the seven political Wards of Kosofe is adequately captured.

The event further reaffirmed the synergy between the Legislative and Executive Arms in delivering on their promises to the people of Kosofe.
