In a bid to promote the well-being of his constituents, Hon. Sola Thomas, Councillor representing Ward G, Yaba LCDA, launched a health program tagged “Jigi Sola”. This initiative is part of his efforts to touch all sectors, having already made impact in education, environment, infrastructure, and clean water provision.

According to Hon. Thomas, the idea to launch a health program was born out of the realization that health is a vital aspect of human life. He noted that despite his numerous projects in other areas, he had not touched the health sector, prompting him to act.

The “Jigi Sola” health program kicked off with a free eye care service, where 200 beneficiaries received free eyeglasses, treatment for malaria, blood sugar level checks, and other free medical checkups. Hon. Thomas expressed his gratitude to God for the success of the program and encouraged his constituents to take their health seriously, emphasizing that “health is wealth”.

Beneficiaries of the program were full of praise for Hon. Thomas, expressing their gratitude for the free eye care services. “I have been struggling to read clearly for a long time, but I couldn’t afford to get recommended glass,” said Mrs. Adejoke, a beneficiary. “I am so grateful to Hon. Thomas for this kind gesture. May God bless him.”

Another beneficiary, Mr. Femi, echoed similar sentiments. “I was diagnosed with high blood sugar, but I couldn’t afford to buy the medication. But today, I received free treatment and medication. I am so grateful to Hon. Thomas for this wonderful program.”

Hon. Thomas’ commitment to the well-being of his constituents is evident in his numerous projects, including environmental initiatives such as clearing drainages, educational support through free JAMB forms and lessons, and infrastructure development, including the provision of clean water through boreholes.
