
In an exclusive interview with Ajasa-Info, Chief Mrs. Mojisola Oyesanya, the newly appointed Acting Iya-Oloja General of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, shared her remarkable market journey. From being the founding Iya Oloja of Shosanya Market Owode in 1986 to becoming the Acting Iya-Oloja General, Chief Mrs. Oyesanya’s story is one of dedication and perseverance.
Chief Mrs. Oyesanya’s illustrious career is marked by numerous achievements. She received her first crown as Iya Oloja of Shosanya Market from Ikorodu Local Government in 1998. In 2000, she was crowned by the then Iya Oloja General of Ikorodu, Alhaja Chief Mrs. Oloworibi. She also holds the prestigious titles of Iya Alaje of Igbogbo Kingdom, Otun Giwa Obinrin Oloja of Lagos State, and Deputy Iya Oloja.
Following the demise of Late Chief Mrs. Rachael Obayomi, Chief Mrs. Oyesanya was recognized as the next in line for the position of Iya Oloja. Despite initial insinuations by a person that the position was reserved for someone young and rich, in response Chief Mrs. Oyesanya emphasized that the selection was based on merit, experience, and achievement.
Chief Mrs. Oyesanya expressed her gratitude to the Chairman and stakeholders for their support in her appointment. She also thanked Oba Richard Ogunsanya, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, and Oba Ganiyu Adekoyejo for their support, as well as the 3 Olori of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA especially the Olori of Olubeshe, the 3 Odofin and other Palace Chiefs, and Rep. Babajimi Benson for his support.
