In a consistent commitment to community engagement, Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA) hosted a Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, to discuss the proposed 2025 budget. Held at the LCDA Secretariat in Agbowa, the forum drew a diverse group of attendees representing various sectors and communities across the LCDA.

The event was well-attended by key figures, including prominent royal fathers: HRM Oba Asunmo Ganiyu Aderibigbe, the Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu Kingdom; HRM Oba Adedapo Elias Omoloro, the Olota of Otta-Ikosi; and HRM Oba Nelson Obayomi Ogunlari, the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi, among others who were duly represented. Vice Chairman Alhaji Wasiu Dehinsilu, Executive Cabinet members, Councillors led by Hon. Hassan Mustapha Owolabi, Council Manager Mr. Sunday Awobajo, SSA to the Lagos State Governor on Technical and Vocational Education Com. Giwa Muritala Omotola, Party chieftains, Gazetted Chiefs, Baales, Security Chiefs, CDC/CDA Executives, Religious leaders, , and other notable stakeholders were also in attendance.

The HOD Budget and planning, Mrs Aremu Olufunmilayo Grace welcomed invited guests to the event intimating them on the importance and essence of the forum whilst assuring them of proper documentation of the inputs to form the 2025 budget.
Executive Chairman Akogun Wale Raji Anomo presented highlights of the LCDA’s achievements, attributing an 87% performance of the 2024 appropriation to proactive and inclusive engagements through similar stakeholders’ forums. He emphasized the people-centered approach of his administration, focusing on sustainable development, infrastructure, and resident welfare as top priorities.

The forum facilitated an open exchange of ideas and feedback from stakeholders, covering key areas such as infrastructure improvement, mobility, and enhanced welfare for residents. In his remarks, Anomo expressed appreciation for the stakeholders’ support and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve community objectives, pledging to uphold transparency and inclusivity in governance.

All stakeholders who spoke at the event acknowledged the Chairman’s positive impact in the last 3 years and openly called for support to enable him to continue his good work for another term. After which series of requests on specific areas they would like to be addressed in the 2025 budget, ensuring the LCDA’s ongoing development.

History was also made at the event, as five Traditional Chiefs/Baales were presented with letters of Gazette by the Chairman, marking a significant milestone for the LCDA and further strengthening traditional leadership within the communities.

The continued engagement of stakeholders by the administration of Akogun Wale Raji Anomo underscores a dedication to democratic values, ensuring that community voices actively shape the policies, programs, and projects that define Ikosi-Ejinrin’s future.
