
Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Yesterday, November 11th conducted unannounced site inspections to assess the progress of various infrastructure projects in Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA). She visited several locations, including Science Road in Unilag Estate, Magodo Phase 1, Isheri Area Office in Olowoora, Adetuberu Street in Olowoora, Kayode Falowo Street in Diamond Estate, Mutairu Street and Onibeju Street in Shangisha, and Anibaba Street.
The Mayoress’s inspection tour aimed to ensure that these projects meet her administration’s high standards and are completed on time. She emphasized the importance of accountability, stating that she wants to see firsthand what’s happening on-site.
Some of the notable projects nearing completion include:
– Oba Onikosi Drive
– Segun Ogunye Zone
– The Legislative Building
– The Customary Court and Agency’s Building
Residents expressed gratitude for the Mayoress’s efforts, particularly in Kayode Falowo Street, where the ongoing road construction project has made a significant difference in their lives. David Iriabe, a resident, thanked the Mayoress, saying, “We are extremely grateful for the Mayoress’s efforts… This project has made a huge difference in our lives”.
Similarly, residents of Unilag Estate, Magodo Phase 1, praised the Mayoress’s leadership, celebrating the Science Road project as a much-needed improvement that will enhance the quality of life for many retirees. Mr. Bayo Alli, Chairman of Unilag Estate, conveyed the residents’ gratitude, saying, “Most of our residents are retirees, and this project has made a tremendous difference”.

She also commended the engineers at the area office, Adetuberu, Diamond Estate, and Mutairu for their excellent work.
However, the Mayoress noted that more effort was required at Adetuberu, and the contractor was urged to improve progress ¹. The recreation center was also identified as an area needing correction, with the engineer promising to put in more effort.
Princess Bada announced that some projects, such as Oba Onikosi Drive, Segun Ogunye Zone, The Legislative Building, and The Customary Court and Agency’s Building, are nearing completion ¹. She expressed gratitude to God for the progress made, acknowledging that it was not by her own power or efforts, but by the special grace of Allah.
The Mayoress revealed that some of these projects would be commissioned by early December, promising a fantastic outcome for Ikosi-Isheri LCDA.
