Lion Basirat Adetutu Banjoko has been installed as the 14th President of the prestigious Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club, marking the beginning of a new era of leadership and service.

Lion Princess Basirat Adetutu Banjoko, in her acceptance speech. She noted that this milestone marks a defining moment in her leadership journey and expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her.

She emphasized that her presidency is not just a personal achievement but also a testament to the collective efforts of the club members. Banjoko stressed the importance of teamwork, acknowledging the significant contributions of her predecessors and fellow Lions. She pointed out that the club’s outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 term are a result of their dedication and hard work.

Banjoko outlined her ambitious agenda for the 2024-2025 term, focusing on eight key initiatives:
Quality Education: constructing standard school toilets at Igbe Community Primary School
Empowerment: skill acquisition programs for 2,000 youth and women, with startup kits for 200 beneficiaries
Food Security: bi-monthly feeding programs for 100 homes
Environmental Sustainability: partnerships with government agencies for environmental services
Healthcare: comprehensive eye care services, including screenings, prescription glasses, and cataract surgeries
Disease Awareness: pediatric cancer and diabetes awareness initiatives
Maternal Support: healthcare services for mothers and children
Community Outreach: regular visits to motherless and elderly care homes

She stressed that these initiatives are crucial to transforming lives and communities, and she seeks partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to achieve these goals with a budget of 25 million naira.

Lion Dr. Folasade Shotomide, the District Governor, emphasized the theme “Excellence in Service.” She congratulated the President and club officers on their investiture and expressed enthusiasm for collaborative efforts to make a meaningful impact.

She stressed the importance of prudence, diligence, and striving for excellence in all aspects of service. She echoed International President Fabricio Oliveira’s charge to “Make Our Mark,” emphasizing the need for innovative and supportive teamwork.

Dr. Shotomide urged members to prioritize the well-being of others, stating, “Our service is not just about what we do, but about how we make others feel.”

“We will make our mark with excellence in service and create a brighter future for all,” Dr. Shotomide affirmed.

Adeboruwa emphasized the importance of maintaining the high standards set by the club’s predecessors, urging the new leadership to surpass previous accomplishments. He pledged his support to the club, ensuring a strong partnership for this service year.
