
The Eginrin Podolu Asemole Community Development Association (CDA) hosted their tenth annual community prayer on Saturday, 26th of October, at JASAL Bar & Event Center, Tanimola Junction, Ojuemuren/Agbede Road, Eginrin Odogunyan, Ikorodu. bringing together Muslims and Christians to seek divine intervention for the well-being of their community, Lagos State, Ikorodu, and Nigeria.
The interfaith prayer session sought divine intervention for peace, prosperity, and progress in the land. Clerics from various faiths joined hands to plead for God’s guidance and blessings.
Prince Niran Ogunbanwo, Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) in Ikorodu North LCDA, commended Eginrin Podolu Asemole CDA for their tireless prayers for the community and nation. He emphasized the significance of prayer in daily life, especially considering the current state of the country, where prayer is more crucial than ever.
He acknowledged the importance of spiritual intervention in addressing the nation’s challenges. “Prayer is essential in our daily lives, and with the situation of our country, we really need prayer,” he stated.
Mr. Lucky Oluku, CDA Chairman, expressed his enthusiasm for the prayer session, stating, “Every time we gather to pray, we see the manifestation of positive change. People have shared testimonies of the impact, which motivates us to continue.” He emphasized that seeking God’s guidance is crucial, especially in challenging times. “Nigeria is facing difficulties, but we believe that God’s intervention can bring about prosperity and protection.”
The community prayer event has become a yearly ritual, fostering unity and spiritual growth among participants.
Mr. Oluku urged people to seek God’s guidance and pray for their leaders, trusting that divine direction will lead to wise decisions benefiting the community.
This event demonstrates the power of collective prayer and community spirit, reflecting the biblical principle that trusting God is a choice, not just a feeling.

Alhaji Shakiru Balogun, General Secretary, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “This annual prayer is a cherished tradition where we come together to call on our creator to bless and guide us, ensuring our community’s growth and development.”
Beyond the annual prayer, the CDA organizes various initiatives, including:
1. Annual End-of-Year Children’s Party: Fostering socialization and festive spirit among children, providing an affordable alternative to external events.
2. Monthly Meetings: Encouraging community engagement, information sharing, and development discussions.
3. Palliative Programs: Supporting needy community members with essential aid.
4. Widows’ Support Program: Providing targeted assistance and care for widows in the community.
“These programs demonstrate our commitment to community welfare and development,” Alhaji Balogun noted. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve and make a positive impact.”
