Ikosi-Isheri LCDA hosted the 2025 Budget Stakeholders Consultative Forum with the theme “Budget of Acceleration and Consolidation” on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Senator Bayo Oshinowo Hall, Council Secretariat. This marked a significant step in the LCDA’s commitment to inclusive Governance, bringing together stakeholders to shape the direction of the local council.

In her address, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA emphasized the significance of this budget in driving development and consolidating achievements in Ikosi-Isheri.

She highlighted the importance of inclusive Governance, where community insights shape the LCDA’s direction. Over the past year, Ikosi-Isheri has made notable progress, and the collective goal is to sustain momentum, ensuring every step benefits the community.

She praised the councillors’ engagement with their respective wards, which has enhanced performance in 2024. The feedback gathered will inform budget decisions for the upcoming year. She expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the LCDA’s accomplishments, which have earned community applause.

She noted that the 2025 budget retreat is scheduled for next month, where all necessary adjustments will be made.

Princess Bada stated, “This forum embodies inclusive Governance, a principle where your insights help shape the direction of our LCDA. Our collective responsibility is to maintain this momentum and ensure that every step forward benefits the people of our community.”

Mr. Olanrewaju Babajide, Head of Budget at Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, emphasized the importance of community involvement in the budget process, stating that the goal is to carry the community along in the budget process of the local government, with a focus on 25 projects. These projects aim to meet the needs of the grassroots through developmental initiatives and rescue efforts, ultimately improving the well-being of the community.

The well-attended event brought together Royal Fathers, Community Development Committee (CDC) members, stakeholders, Religious leaders, and other community representatives. They seized the opportunity to voice their concerns and suggestions for the upcoming budget.

Princess Samiat Bada listened attentively to the issues raised and assured the gathering that the council would address their concerns. She emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining progress and ensuring benefits for the community.
