
In part one we talked about 11 impactful projects embarked upon by Ikorodu West and about 9 and 7 embarked upon by Epe and Bariga in the last hundred days under the supervision of the constitutional mandate of the Senatorial district.
In this second part, we looked into the impact of other local branches in the senatorial district beginning from Agboyi-Ketu where after it’s inauguration in the middle of the year, it kick started its activities with familiarization and courtesy visits to critical stakeholders which include Hon Femi Saheed, Oba Alaketu of Ketu and Super for Works between August and Sept, 2024. It held it Management meeting where various issues affecting young people in Agboyi-Ketu was discussed, directorates where also appointed and inaugurated, same day, it carried out a cleanup and environmental safety advocacy exercise at the Market and that makes 27th July, 2024 an eventful day. The branch further visited ongoing developmental projects in the LCDA and assessment of its social impact. Of significant are the recreational centers been put in place at Agboyi community and two other areas which will stimulate young people development. This event took place on 27th July, 2024.
Lekki branch held it’s expanded Security Meeting on Protest 29th July, 2024 to prevent destructive conduct, then within this period under review paid a courtesy visit to all Royal fathers and political Stakeholders to further simulate familiarization and key stakeholders into the youth agenda for the community, the local branch also support and report of Communities affected by Ocean Surge and also held a science lesson tutorial for SS1-SS3 students with the objective of encouraging a new generation that picks interest in researches and science within the community, the branch has continually held it Youth Management Meeting where issues affecting young people in the community are deliberated upon.
Ikorodu branch became the talk of the town when it held it Skill acquisition program to commemorate World Youth Skill Day with more than 30 people as beneficiaries, young people were trained in the area of tying Gele, soup making, graphics design and so on. On 31st July, 2024, it held an Advocacy Engagement Against Violent protest where the Hon Commissioner for Youth and Social Development; Hon Mobolaji Ogunlende was the Guest Speaker and to commemorate the International Youth Day in August, it held a Clean Up Exercise at Sabo Market of Ikorodu and as part of its community service paid hospital bills of indigent patients at Ikorodu General Hospital.
As the waves of Skill acquisition programs hits the youth council to commemorate World Skill Day, Ikosi Isheri was not left behind when it train close to forty young people in various skills on 15th July, 2024 and also lend its voice against violent protest by engaging various youth stakeholders between
1st – 3rd August, 2024 and has held its management meeting monthly to discuss young people’s welfare on a periodical basis.
On 11th September, 2024, the Kosofe local branch also held it Youth Symposium to Commemorate Int’l Youth Day.
