
On Friday, 27th September 2024, the town of Itẹle witnessed a landmark event as the newly constructed Medical Outreach Centre was officially commissioned by the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adéọlá Adebisi Banjọ. The centre is designed to provide vital healthcare services to the community, fulfilling a long-awaited dream for the people of Itẹle.
Dignitaries in attendance included Chief Waheed Oduguwa, Baale of Itẹle; Comrade Paul Ogunlana, the CDA Chairman; Comrade Tunde Ige, the Joint CDA Chairman, as well as key council officials. Hon. Ola Ameen Apanisile, Vice Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, was present alongside Prince Niyi Odugbesi, the Secretary to the Local Government; Hon. Basirat Babatunde, Supervisor for WAPA; and Supervisors for Works and Health. The councillors of Ikorodu North LCDA, including Hon. Niran Adeyemi, Hon. Sheriff Olakanmi, Hon. Abimbola Adaramola, and Hon. Baliqis Aderoju, were also present, along with the Council’s Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Engineer, and HOU Information.
In his welcome address, the Supervisor for Health highlighted the importance of the new Medical Outreach Centre, emphasizing its role in enhancing the well-being of the people of Itẹle. He expressed gratitude for the support of the council and the community in making the project a reality.
Baale Waheed Oduguwa, the traditional head of the town, extended his heartfelt thanks to Chairman Builder Adeola Banjọ for considering Itẹle for this critical project. He assured the Chairman of the community’s full support and called for further developmental interventions in the area.
During the event, Hon. Sheriff Olakanmi, a councillor, gave a commendable speech, urging the residents to make the best use of the new facility. He praised the council’s dedication to improving the healthcare infrastructure in Ikorodu North.
In his keynote address, Builder Adéọlá Banjọ reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring access to quality healthcare for all, stating that healthcare is not a luxury but a fundamental right. He further assured the community that the centre would be continuously supported with medical equipment, personnel, and resources to ensure it meets the needs of the people.
Hon. Ambali Adeleke, the Supervisor for Works who had facilitated the project during his tenure as a councillor, gave the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all stakeholders involved in making the project a success.
The commissioning of the Medical Outreach Centre marks a significant milestone for the people of Itẹle, providing them with improved access to essential healthcare services. This event is another testament to the progressive vision of the Ikorodu North LCDA under the leadership of Builder Adeola Banjọ, as he continues to deliver life-changing projects that improve the quality of life for residents.
