
Ikorodu West LCDA has taken a significant step towards enhancing transportation and economic development in the area with the commissioning of the Ogolonto Ultra-Modern Motor Park.
Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West LCDA, led the commissioning ceremony, which was attended by dignitaries from the state government, Local Government, and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State.
In his keynote speech, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem emphasized the park’s role in facilitating transportation, economic activities, and community engagement. “This is a testament to our commitment to enhance the transportation experience of our citizens. We have created a space that does not only facilitate transport but also fosters economic activities and community engagement,” he said.
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to Alh. Ibrahim Kasumu for the invaluable collaboration of the project.
SKO also outlined a number of notable projects that was done by his led administration, streamling his commitment for community development and nation building.
The motor park boasts unique features, including:
– Lock-up Shops
– Restaurants
– Restrooms
These amenities are designed to provide comfort and convenience for commuters, transporters, and the community.
Prince Lanre Balogun, representing the Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, commended SKO for his commitment to rural development and support for the community.
Comr. Usman Teslim, on behalf of NURTW’s acting State chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle (SEGO), applauded the initiative, urging other local governments to emulate it. “This is not for the NURTW but for the masses of Ikorodu, they will be the ones to benefit from the project,” he said.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Hon. Wasiu Agoro, Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA; Builder Adeola Banjo, Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA; and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo Alogba, Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA.
The Council Manager, Mr. Olusola Tobun, gave the closing remarks, thanking attendees for their support and promising more development projects in the Ikorodu West LCDA.
