
In a bid to boost Agricultural production and enhance food security, the Office of the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Agriculture Hon. Abiodun Yinusa, has commenced the distribution of fertilizers to farmers in the South-West and North-East regions.
The flag-off ceremony for the Southwest region took place in Lagos, and Ogun state with representatives of the Special Assistant, Hon. Taiwo Ayedun (Shanana), and Mr. Rafiu Lawal in attendance. They assured farmers of continued support from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
Hon. Abiodun Yinusa emphasized the Government’s commitment to working with farmers and stakeholders to provide necessary support, ensuring increased food production.

Mrs Temitope Ande and Mechanized Agro-farmer expert, Engr Oyegunle Taofeeq admonished all stakeholders to embrace this initiative that is being flag off in Lagos with intention to spread it across the entire South-West in the coming days..
“The government is ready and willing to closely work with farmers and as well as other stakeholders in the Agro processing value chain by providing necessary support aimed at facilitating improved mechanised farming, capacity building, agro processing equipments and ensuring consistent supply agricultural inputs as well as other support services that will guarantee increase in food production,” Mr Lawal said.

Similarly, in the North-East region, the Special Assistant, Hon. Abiodun Yinusa, represented by Buhari Hussaini Bulkachuwa, flagged off the free fertilizer distribution in Bauchi, for the North East region.
Yinusa emphasized that the initiative aims to support small-scale farmers, especially youth and women, to achieve food security.
“The federal government is taking deliberate steps to boost agricultural production and enhance the quality of life for the people,” Yinusa stated.
Retired Brigadier General Ladan Yusuf Bauchi and the state’s former commissioner of finance, Alhaji Garba Sarki Akuyam, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Special Assistant on Agriculture for the gesture.
They urged other politicians to emulate the President’s commitment to agriculture and food security.
The fertilizer distribution program is part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on agriculture and food security.
Its objectives include:

– Promoting sustainable agriculture
– Contributing to the nation’s economic development
