
In a bid to promote education and support talented youth, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, distributed 450 free GCE forms to qualified students in the Local Government.
The distribution, which took place on September 4th, was done in conjunction with SOHCAHTOA Foundation and OBA Foundation. This is the fourth edition of the initiative under Barrister Ogunlewe’s administration.
In his speech, Barrister Ogunlewe emphasized the importance of education in achieving greatness and success. He stated, “If education is a barometer to measure the attainment of greatness and achieve success, then those of us at the helm of public affairs must endeavour to give the needed opportunity to talented youth, particularly the indigent ones who are willing to learn. Today’s memorable event, the distribution of free 450 General Certificate of Education (GCE) forms to our selected candidates after rigorous screening, the fourth edition, is the legacy we must and will pursue with uncommon zeal.”
He further highlighted the local government’s commitment to redefining education in Kosofe, citing projects such as the provision of school uniforms for all public primary school pupils. “Our resolve to redefine education here in our dear Local Government is as sure as the coming of tomorrow. To buttress this determination, we have embarked on some projects that will further give elevation to our public primary Schools here in Kosofe. Thereby providing School Uniforms for all Public Primary School Pupils in Kosofe. All these are snippets of what we intend to do in our education landscape.”
Barrister Ogunlewe also recalled the distribution of free JAMB forms to youths seeking admission into tertiary institutions earlier in the year, saying, “You would recall that, in addition to these GCE forms we distributed last year, we equally gave out FREE Jamb forms to youths seeking admission into our tertiary institutions earlier this year.”
He also mentioned the commissioning of Mosafejo Primary School, saying, “We also commissioned Mosafejo Primary School a few months ago, and we are committed to providing quality education infrastructure in Kosofe.”
The chairman appreciated the donations of 150 free GCE forms from SOHCAHTOA Foundation and 100 free GCE forms from OBA Foundation, saying, “I would also like to appreciate sohcahtoa_foundation for the donation of 150 FREE GCE Forms and Oba Foundation for 100 FREE GCE Forms.”
He acknowledged the tutorial classes provided to prepare the students for the examination, saying, “As you all know, the tutorial classes have been on for a long time, the reason is to prepare you for the examination. I want to believe you all can attest to the Quality of teachers provided in the ongoing Tutorial classes put in place to refresh your brain for the upcoming GCE exams.”
He extended his well wishes to all the candidates preparing for their examinations, emphasizing, “Your success is our prayers and concern. I wish every Candidate a Successful Examination.”
The beneficiaries of the free GCE forms extended their appreciation to the Chairman, pledging to make the most of the opportunity and promising to excel in their exams. They thanked Barrister Ogunlewe for his commitment to education and his efforts to empower the youth in Kosofe.
