
The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, has launched a comprehensive campaign to tackle the growing problem of drug abuse in the community.
In a statement addressed to residents, Barrister Ogunlewe expressed his determination to combat the scourge, stating, “Our beloved community faces a grave challenge, but we are not standing idly by.”
The “#KosofeKicksAgainstDrugAbuse” campaign aims to raise awareness, provide support, and empower residents to make informed choices. The initiative includes open dialogues, rehabilitation programs, and partnerships with stakeholders to address the root causes of substance abuse.
Barr. Ogunlewe emphasized the devastating impact of drug abuse, saying, “It shatters individual lives, rends the fabric of our society, and robs our youth of their boundless potential.”
He called on residents to join the campaign, saying, “Together, we can reclaim our streets, restore hope, and build a Kosofe where all our citizens, particularly our young people, can flourish in a drug-free environment.”
The Chairman expressed his faith in the community’s strength and resilience, saying, “United, we shall overcome this obstacle and create a safer, more prosperous Kosofe for generations to come.”
